Dear URS employee:

Congratulations!  Many of you stood up and shouted “Union Yes” because you wanted to improve your wages, hours and working conditions.  Because of this, the Union has filed with the National Labor Relations Board to hold an election where you and your fellow employees can vote for the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers as your official representative.

It is unfortunate, however, that a Collective Bargaining Agreement was not in place at the time URS took over as your employer.  Had an Agreement been in place, the new employer could not have come in and cleaned out your vacation banks or changed any of your benefits without negotiating with your Union beforehand.

It’s more important than ever for you to stay involved and attend the next information meetings that will be scheduled before the election date.  We will stay in contact throughout this process.  In the meantime, please feel free to view our web site at www.voteyesiam.com/URS.  You can call me at (206) 764-0305 or email me at jessec@iam751.org.

                                                            JESSE COTE

                                                            IAM Representative
